Canada Startups Association: Building a Global Movement for Underrepresented Founders
With Tehmina A. Chaudhry, Founder, and Hammad Siddiqui, Co-Founder of CSA
Canada Startup Association™ (CSA) is an award-winning, inclusive community dedicated to empowering underrepresented and immigrant founders across Canada. By providing a bridge to innovation, trade, and international markets, CSA serves as the national platform uniting founders with the global resources they need to lead in today’s economy.
Our engagement with CSA was two-fold: building overarching brand awareness for the association’s mission and executing a high-velocity performance marketing engine for their sub-movement the AGAZ Summit. Together, we turned a vision of fairness and opportunity into a measurable, sold-out success.
Here’s how.
The Obstacle: Bridging the Gap Between Mission and Visibility
Canada is home to a massive pool of immigrant talent, yet many founders face a “visibility gap” lacking access to the specific investor networks and export initiatives required to scale globally.
When we began, CSA had the expertise and the network, but their digital presence was not fully optimized to capture the massive demand for their services. The association needed to move from a “best-kept secret” to a recognized authority. Simultaneously, they were launching the AGAZ Summit a high-stakes event that required immediate market penetration and ticket sales in a crowded ecosystem. The challenge was clear: build long-term brand equity for CSA while delivering short-term, sold-out results for AGAZ.
The Strategy: A Dual-Track Growth Engine
We implemented a strategy that synchronized broad “Movement-Based” awareness with surgical “Event-Based” conversion.
1. Movement-Led Brand Awareness
We leveraged the “Insights” and “Global Pathways” pillars of CSA to position the association as the primary thought leader for immigrant entrepreneurship.
-
The Narrative: We centered the messaging around “Empowering equity-deserving communities” and the founders’ personal brands (Tehmina A. Chaudhry and Hammad Siddiqui).
-
Content Distribution: By utilizing LinkedIn and Meta, we targeted startup ecosystems, accelerators, and professional hubs to build a “Vetted Circle” of 1,000+ members.
2. Performance-Driven Summit Infrastructure
For the AGAZ Summit, we built a conversion-optimized funnel designed to drive registrations through urgency and social proof.
-
Hyperlapse Strategy: We utilized high-energy video creative to stop the scroll, guiding viewers from the association’s mission directly to the summit’s checkout page.
Global Pathway Integration: We tied the summit directly to CSA’s partnerships with GITEX Global and the Singapore FinTech Festival, framing the event not just as a summit, but as a “shortcut to success.”
The Execution: From Awareness to Action
Our execution focused on turning “Founders” into “Advocates.”
- Segmented Ad Campaigns: We targeted BIPOC founders and entrepreneurial communities across Canada with tailored messaging on Google and Meta.
- A/B Testing for Urgency: We tested different “value-add” hooks (Mentorship access vs. Investor networking) to see what moved the needle for summit registrations.
- Streamlined User Journey: We optimized the association’s digital touchpoints, ensuring that whether a user was looking for a “Growth Program” or an “Event Insight,” the path to membership was clear and friction-free.
The Results: From Momentum to Movement
The collaboration resulted in a measurable expansion of CSA’s reach and a historic sell-out for their flagship event.
A National Platform with Global Reach
Today, Canada Startup Association™ stands as a powerful network of 1,000+ members and 100+ supporters, with strategic footprints in the Middle East (Saudi Arabia) and Southeast Asia (Vietnam/Singapore).
The AGAZ Summit Sell-Out
The focused performance marketing campaign for the AGAZ Summit was a total success, selling out all tickets 20 days before the doors opened. This early liquidation proved the demand for CSA’s specific brand of global resource connection.
